Christine Morris
Christine Morris is an Aboriginal artist whose work celebrates the stories and knowledge connected to bush medicine and traditional bush foods. Through her paintings, Christine shares elements of cultural knowledge that have been passed down through generations.
Many of Christine’s artworks feature bush medicine leaves, plants traditionally used by Aboriginal people for healing and wellbeing. These leaves hold deep cultural significance, representing the long history of Aboriginal knowledge about the land and the natural remedies found within it.
She also paints the witchetty grub, an important traditional bush food that has sustained Aboriginal people for thousands of years. The witchetty grub is often associated with survival, nourishment and the deep understanding Aboriginal people have of Country.
