Barramundi Dreaming

Barramundi are an important part of life on Country. They have long provided food for Aboriginal people and are deeply connected to the waterways that sustain the land and its people. In many Aboriginal cultures, barramundi are linked to Dreaming stories that explain how animals, landscapes and natural cycles came to be.

The painting often represents the movement of barramundi through the water, travelling between rivers, wetlands and billabongs during the seasons. These journeys reflect the natural rhythms of the land and the deep understanding Aboriginal people have of Country.
