Lynette Nungurrayi Corby
Lynette Corby, also known as Lynette Daniels Nungurrayi, was born on July 1, 1958, in Haasts Bluff, and has roots in the Papunya region, near Yamuturrngu (Mt Liebig) in the Northern Territory. She belongs to the Luritja language group.
Lynette started her painting journey in 1990 with Papunya Tula Artists. Her artwork tells rich stories, exploring themes like the Witchetty Grub, Snake, and Woman Dreamings.
Initially, Lynette incorporated traditional symbols and realistic images of bush foods and tools. Recently, she has shifted towards a more abstract style, focusing on capturing the essence of her stories in a fresh, vibrant way.
